Hello all,

since KDE 3.2beta2 i have the following problem on my Powerbook G4:

If i close a window (e.g. konqueror or konsole) then X, kded and kwin start using about 90% of CPU Power (3 x ~30%).
With 3.2beta1 this bug never appeared.

I'm using:

XFree 4.3.99r3.
QT-3.2.2

Maybe anybody else the same problem?
Anyone an idea?
What could i do for debugging?

Thanks,
Mike

PS: It seems that the ebuild is missing a dependency to pbbuttonsd-0.5.7. With 0.5.6? kdeutils stops compiling at the powerbook2 module.

Have the same thing with beta2 on my compaq p4. Never saw this in alpha1.

One difference to yours is that for it does not happen when I close a konsole. After reading your posts I've tried a few different kde apps and the only trigger that I've found is Konquerer, which does it everytime (luckily I am not using konq very much anyway....)

Unfortunatly I have no solution for it.

Restarting kded temporarily solves it but the problem comes back after closing konquerer again (not sure if this has any sideeffects, sofar I've not seen any).

Hi jperleryd,

for me the problem seems to be fixed now.

Last night I updated qt from qt-3.2.2 to qt-3.2.2r1.
I work now for about 4 hours with rc1 and the problem doesn't occur anymore.
Maybe it also is a solution for you.

Mike

Thanks a lot.

Upgrading qt did it. I was using 3.2.1, after upgrading to 3.2.3-r1 last night I have not see the problem either.
