| so im trying to get my pcmcia nic to work with gentoo. i boot the livecd and am now trying to figure out what i need to load to get the card to work with lsmod and modprobe. im new to all this but i think the first think i should modprobe is pcmcia_core, i am getting a lot of error messages so its trial and error trying to figure out which module to load first, i have been told that the correct module to run with this pcmcia card is tulip, but i have not been able to load tulip as a module i just keep getting errors. does any one know how i have to have this set up to get to the point in which i can modprobe tulip? |

| another thing i am thinking about is how will i start the pcmcia, if i run boot with gentoo dopcmcia, i assume thats running the /etc/init.d/pcmcia script but that will load the wrong modules, so will i need to modify that script so it runs with the tulip module and then start it? |
