I'm not entirely sure how I've managed to do this. I was mucking around with the Arts settings in the KDE Control Center one night, and the following day I noticed that no app was outputting any sound (or so I thought). I undid the changes I made, and this hasn't fixed anything!!
What's really strange is XMMS will play sound using the Alsa plugin!! Mplayer, aplay and mpg123 output nothing.
I've checked that my channels are unmuted but I'm stumped as to where to go. I run kernel 2.6.1rc1, aka development-sources, and simply autoload the snd-via82xx module on boot. |

Have you tried disabling ARTS by using "Disable sound system" in the KDE control center? _________________ Gentoo's kind community
