Hi,
I was wondering where could I find kernel .bz2 diffs. I mean, for example:
I have linux-2.6.2-rc1.tar.bz2 and I find out there's a 2.6.2-rc2.tar.bz2 on kernel.org. the question is where could I find a diff between those too (the bzipped sources)
And another thing: what are incremental patches?
Please help. _________________ 0100100100100000011011000110111101110110

The incremental patch is the diff. _________________ "There is no teacher but the enemy." |

On kernel.org, the patch is called "patch-2.6.1-rc2". It is the incremental patch is from 2.6.1-rc to 2.6.1-rc2. You can get the next one as well (2.6.1) and apply first the one called 2.6.1-rc2 and then 2.6.1. If you don't do it in the right order, it won't work. |

also kernel.org has a changelog file which tells the patches/mods that have been done, personaly i only mess about with the kernel as im bored, i cant tell the diff but i have a pretty fast machine deeply underloaded[1] at the moment.

There are no official patches like that. In fact, I think unless you were really lucky- a patch done that way would be bigger than a bzip2ed diff of the uncompressed tree. |
