I found that you can download ms fonts from here.
It would be good if anyone could make an ebuild for this.

Good idea! The redistribution of the fonts hosted on SourceForge is legal, according to the EULA they contain. There's no licensing problem in using them in Gentoo (or anywhere else). They're also very good fonts, notably they have very good hints for small sizes. _________________ killed by a fire ant, while helpless |

It appears that they are included with the xfree ebuild. Look in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype
But there is a problem with the license as they are not distributed in its original form (.exe .cab). I filed a new bug.
Besides my ebuild includes the tahoma font, that is not included with xfree. |

Is it the license that comes with xfree you are saying disagrees with this? _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

No, what I'm saying is that the fonts are included in the truetype.tar.gz archive that is installed when you emerge xfree, and are not distributed in its original form. |
