I've been fooling around with gento now for about 3 weeks, and gotta say I like it. However I do have one issue.
I've been able to get everything up and running without much issue. But for some reason, X has crashed twice on startup with the error "could not open font type fixed". Nothing out of the ordinary happend prior to indicate any prblems, the system was shut down gracefully with no errors encountered.
Unfortunatley, I couldn't figure out the fix and was forced to re-emerge X to correct the problem. Needless to say, the amount of time it takes to to this is not very appealing.
Any Ideas on why this is happening, or how to correct it without going through another emerge?
Thanks

Did it happen all the time or was it intermittent? Was your fontpath setting correct? If you look at the XFree logs in /var/log, you can probably get more hints. |

No it's not intermittent...per se.
It happen twice over a 2 week period.
Font path settings seemed OK as far as I could tell.
I'll check the logs and see if anything comes up there.
