|
|
I'm trying to install gentoo 1.4 on a 1 GHz Duron laptop. I have adjusted the make.conf, chost=i686-pc-linuc-gnu and cflags=-mcpu=athlon -02 -pipe
As far as I'm concerned, these are right adjustments.
The emerge sync goes well, but the bootstrap gives me problesm. /var/log/emerge tells me that it has already emerged portage, gettext, sed, gnuconfig, ncurses, texinfo and it is working now on binutils.
But, when the configure stage begins, it checks for some stuff and afterwards it creates a Makefile. That creation takes about 2 minutes and afterwards it just starts the configure stuff again It has been in a loop for more then 8 hours now.
The 'funy' thing is that when it checks for ar, as, dlltool, ld, etc etc it can't find anything.
There are about 10 items it checks for, and all these lines look like:
checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-ar... no
checking for ar...(cached) ar
it also says:
checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-ld... (cached) /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.3/../../../..i486-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld
why i486?
Anyone has a clue? |
