|
|
Boy did Gentoo make their installation guide easy to follow. I went through the entire installation and even got grub to dualboot my XP perfectly on the first shot. BUT, there is a problem with the Gentoo boot.
The boot sequence seems fine until it gets to this area...
Code: |
Mounting /proc... [OK]
Mounting devfs at /dev... [oops]
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module devfs
The "mount" command failed with error
fs type devfs not supported by kernel
|
While it looks obvious to me that i need to recompile my kernel to correct this problem, but since I am a complete newb to Linux (first install that wasn't automated by Redhat), I have no clue where to start looking. I assume there is one option in the menuconfig to enable this, but I do not know where.
Anyone have this problem ever? Can someone show me the light?! |

You're not alone. See if the instructions in https://forums.gentoo.org/faq.php#9 help you. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
