Hi!
I just installed a new gentoo from stage one with 2.6.1-gentoo-dev kernel. Everything is working fine as long as I'm logged in as root. But when I'm starting fluxbox ( 0.9.8 ), and trying to start xterm nothing happens. Same with eterm. Groups are "users,bin,sys,wheel,audio,video,games,portage".
How can I fix this?
Sorry, if this is a known issue, but i couldnt find a topic by the search option...
thx & greets, tryze |

I'm not sure if this is the cause or not, but make sure the /dev/pts file system is available:
Code: |
# make menuconfig
File systems ->
Pseudo filesystems ->
[*] /dev/pts file system for Unix98 PTYs

It was not exact the line you told me, but it was the other part about pty's. Didn't have support for "Unix98 pty support" compiled in. Now its working.
Thanks to you!
