I'm running a fresh install of Gentoo 1.4 with a 2.6.1-love5 kernel. But the problem is that I can't get any usb or firewire storage to work. This is what dmesg says when i plug in a firewire hdd(MaPower).

ohci1394: fw-host0: SelfID received, but NodeID invalid (probably new bus reset occurred): 0000FFC0
ieee1394: dropped fcp request

I have checked in /proc/bus/ and there is no ieee1394 there. But usb is present. When I insert an Usb memory dmesg says this.

hub 1-0:1.0: new USB device on port 1, assigned address 2
scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
Vendor: KINGSTON Model: USB DRIVE Rev: 1.12
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
WARNING: USB Mass Storage data integrity not assured
USB Mass Storage device found at 2

There is no sda in /dev nor anything in /dev/scsi.
I have everything that has to do with usb and ieee1394 enabled in the kernel.

Edit: Got Usb to work. Don't know how. shows up as sda1.
