Hi,
I'm no newbie on networking, but I don't have any experience with mail servers...
I want to setup a local SMTP server to do the following tasks:
- Recieve the incomming mail from fetchmail (and put it in the maildir mailboxes)
- receive mail from clients on the local network and either
- relay them to my ISP-s SMTP server
- deliver them localy
I took a look around and found that there is a great choice on mail servers. Here is my (totaly incomplete list) and my current pros/cons:
- sendmail: pro: i have the O'Reilly; con: looks WAY to complex
- postfix: pro: seen a lot of posts about it; cons: none, realy
- exim: don't know anything
- qmail: ???
Any ideas what to use? Why? |
