First, all my netcards can work well when I boot from the LiveCD.
my english is very poor, sorry for it .
I use kernel 2.6.1.
Eth0 is VIA VT6102 Rhine-II
Eth1 RealTek RTL-8029
When I boot from LiveCD, it load 4 modules for net.
via-rhine
mii
8390
ne2k-pci
When I boot from harddisk, I only load via-rhine, and my eth0 can work. It could ping itself ,but when I use lynx to connect to the gateway, I can't find the host. Every thing is OK in LiveCD and Windows.
How can I load the "mii" module and "8390". I didn't find the chioce of build the "8390" module.
Is the "mii" module very important?
I saw /usr/src/linux/Documentation/networking/net-modules.txt, but i couldn't understant what it said, because my poor english.
thx _________________ If the things can't be done in linux but windows, that's the things shouldn't be done. |

Does your isp use dhcp or a static address?
If you use dhcp, you might manually try: before connecting. _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..

Since I don't use the 2.6 kernel yet, I am not really sure what the names of these modules are. However, sometimes it's easier to browse the source and find the souce file associated with the module. Then you can back track through the makefiles to find the option(s) you need to select to get it working. _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..
