for whatever reason, even though I actually have jackd running, terminatorX seems to think the daemon isnt running. _________________ you haven't really burned until you've burned from a CLI |

Thats not a whole lot of info to go on. First guess: you are running
the server and client as different users. |

sorry, yeah I am, I couldn't get terminatorX to run as root. And I don't know, I'm trying to get low latency to work, but no dice. _________________ you haven't really burned until you've burned from a CLI |

I dont know what TerminatorX is and why it doesnt want to run as
root. Sorry. One solution then is to run jackd as a regular user. If
you want to run with the -R option you'll need a capabilities enabled
kernel...See the jack FAQ on how this is done. IMO, this is the
best way to do things..but more work...you'll also need to compile
jack with both jack-tmpfs and jack-caps use flags. .HTH. |
