Interesting. I wonder why it needs to generate the documentation in the make process?

tex is in app-text/tetex. Try installing that; if it fixes it post a bug to add tetex to the imwheel DEPEND.

Isn't imwheel just a bad fix for editing your XF86Config?

Is there a reason you're compiling imwheel yourself and not using portage?

If you need pre5 over pre2, do the following and a simple "emerge imwheel" will install imwheel-1.0.0pre5:

Code:

# cp /usr/portage/x11-misc/imwheel/imwheel-1.0.0_pre2.ebuild /usr/portage/x11-misc/imwheel/imwheel-1.0.0_pre5.ebuild
# cp /usr/portage/x11-misc/imwheel/files/imwheel-1.0.0_pre2-gentoo.diff /usr/portage/x11-misc/imwheel/files/imwheel-1.0.0_pre5-gentoo.diff
# ebuild /usr/portage/x11-misc/imwheel/imwheel-1.0.0_pre5.ebuild digest

Now emerge imwheel and you should have 1.0.0_pre5 installed.
