|
|
when I make some adjustments to my kernel (2.4.19-r7-gentoo) it gives me errors at the part where it has to do the modules.
it says something about that it can't do anything but does give the modules it want's to do.
I know this sounds a bit vage, but I'm not sure how to explain this thoroughly.
I also believe this has to do with the problems I have now with getting my Audigy card working.
I will try to post something tommorow displaying the errors. _________________ Mac Pro single quad 2.8GHz, 6GB RAM, 8800GT. MacBook. Plus way too many SUN/Cobatl/SGI and a lonely Alpha. |

Do you know what modules are causing the errors???
To get your Audigy working: in the sound section of the kernel configuration, select sound support as a module, and OSS support as a module. Select NO for everything else. You can then emerge alsa-drivers to generate your sound driver modules... (snd-emu10k1 I believe??? + snd-pcm-oss)... _________________ Hello. |

hmm, will try that one.
but I did compile them in the kernel as modules but only after I installed Alsa because I wanted to use the drivers for the Audigy using the Portage tree.
Forgot to take my diskette to work whigh contains menuconfig and uhm.. some other file
Will do that tomorrow. _________________ Mac Pro single quad 2.8GHz, 6GB RAM, 8800GT. MacBook. Plus way too many SUN/Cobatl/SGI and a lonely Alpha. |
