I'm currently scheming to convert my father's Win2k PC on the other side of the house over to Gentoo. He only uses it to play freecell (the specific version which comes with most windows installations by default and which also happens to be easily run using WINE), surf the net on occasion, and check his email once in a blue moon. All of these activities are things he can do in Linux just as easily as windows provided I set it up properly for him and I know I can. Since he depends on me for computer-related issues anyway, I figured why not set him up with the best.
Moving along, the only thing I'm unsure of is a wireless ethernet card (which is necessary because stretching a cat5 all the way to the other side of the house simply isn't feasible). I need help selecting a wireless NIC card which is very well supported in Linux and which shouldn't cause me too much of a headache to get up and running. Thanks. _________________ Should masochists practice the Golden Rule? |
