trying to emerge the latest xfce has become a problem for me.
Code:

lisa xfce4 # emerge -p xfce4-4.0.3.1.ebuild
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies \
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy ">=xfce-extra/xfcalendar-0.1.5" have been masked.
!!!    (dependency required by "xfce-base/xfce4-4.0.3.1" [ebuild])
!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.

trying to force emerge for xfcalender yielded this:
Code:

lisa xfce4 # emerge -p /usr/portage/xfce-extra/xfcalendar/xfcalendar-0.1.5.ebuild
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies \
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy ">=xfce-base/xfce4-base-4.0.3" have been masked.
!!!    (dependency required by "xfce-extra/xfcalendar-0.1.5" [ebuild])
!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.

it would seem that portage will not allow me to install any xfce4 above 4.0.1. why is this so? is there any way around it? this http://www.xfce.org/index.php?page=news&lang=en says that 4.0.3 fixes mem leak problems and this concerns me.

Try :
Code:
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge -v xfce4

I attempted to use
Code:
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge -v xfce4
with another package that was masked( I just copied and pasted the text from the last post which is why xfce4 is the package there now ) and it kept telling me the package was masked and would not install it. So I edited the .ebuild file and removed the ~. I'm not sure this is the best way, but it certainly solved the problem.
