i wasn't able to find anything specifically related to the problem i'm having other than that i might need to change some of my compile flags.
anyway, i'm running kde 3.1.5 with xfree-4.3.0-r3 and glibc 2.3.2-r9.
making a short story long, kicker runs fine when i start kde but will randomly crash. i have not been able to tie it to any particular action on my machine. i did a back trace on the core file that was generated, here's what it has:
