Hi
I want to say thank you for building the most reliable OS on earth.
Linux is the best thing the internet brought to the people. It's the eighth wonder of the world in my eyes.
Keep fighting against stupid e-patents on software and algorithms.

I don't think Linux and Open Source is neccesarily against patents. While alot of them are evil, I believe there is nothing wrong with someone making money off something they worked hard on and that they deserve to be protected from being ripped off by some other company. _________________ Think about your breathing.

The problem with patents is that they are both misused and misunderstood.
Patenting software is similar to patenting words. Copyright applies to software. Why should you be able to patent obvious software methods?
Patenting should be for inventions only, not for spotting something blindingly obvious or for spotting a successful business process. _________________ Want Free games?

or complex things like games and game engines
i dont mind patents on those, i especially like ID's method, once their new version is out they release the source for the old one (e.g. Doom, Quake, Quake2) |
