Could somebody tell me how to get video mirroring to work with my iBook 800mhz radeon 9200. When I connect my monitor to it and boot I get a white screen and a few lines of text and thats it.
Im using ppc-development-sources-2.6.2_rc1-r1 and xfree 4.3.0-r3. If it is possible to get video mirroring to work I would be extremely grateful to the person who could tell me how to do so. |

I've written a little tutorial about this topic. You can find it here
[edit]: Maybe you only need XFree86 4.3.99 if you want dri support and video out works with 4.3.0 as well. I have not tested kernel 2.6.x and XFree 4.3.0 together (it was dri support I wanted and tested video out afterwards) |

Your tutorial has a lot of references to CRT monitors. Is there anything I must do differently to get video mirroring on my TFT or is everything the same...? |

Should be the same.
It had worked with an 15" TFT from Belinea. But, as mentioned, I had problems with a 19" monitor and an beamer. They were not recognised. With the 17" CRT it always works. So if it does not work for you with a TFT you may try to connect to a CRT. If this works you can then switch back to the TFT and everthing should be fine. Also try XFree4.3.99. It is much better because you don't need to restart.
(BTW: with not work i mean "not correctly". I always had an output. Even if it was not useable) |

Thanks. Yes I will be switching to xfree 4.3.99 later (bit busy atm) and then I will let you know how it goes (although I will probably need some sort of help before then ).
Thanks for your quick response... |

The problem with the monitor seems not to be related to the monitorsize.
I tested with a Belinea 19" and everything is working fine. The 19" I had problems with was a Ilyama Vison Master Pro 19. The Beamer an Epson.
So just try...
@help: maybe you should send me an pm, too. I got no EMails from the forums of late , don't know why. So I probably don't notice if you post something. |
