You can use whatever resolution your fb is in. On my 17" LCD it's "1280x1024x16M" |
the links -g will come up, the mouse just won't work in it. I can still navigate with arrows and all. thanks.

did you configure /etc/conf.d/gpm and then start gpm using /etc/init.d/gpm start? |
yep, gpm works fine except in that framebuffer links. But that's still a neato app. I've always liked having links around in case my gui died, but that framebuffer thing is just too cool.
