Hi all! I've installed gentoo on an "old" machine, a pentium mmx 150, but, with distcc is not to bad :)
My problem is that this machine, a texas instruments extensa 670 CDT, have a very strange bios. I use a kernel 2.6.1 and when I boot it does not recognise the BIOS serial conf. So if I do a findchip -v I get the information about my IRDA nsc PC87338 but with irq=0.
I can't use the irda in sir mode because the module 8250 find only the true serial device and in fir mode (I modify the module) I get:

nsc-ircc, cannot initialise irq=0

I read in IR-HOWTO that on old machine seems we have to use winzoz  to init the bios resources... tell me is not true

ciao,
Dnix
