Ok, ive got 2 problems:
I followed the desktop gentoo guide(http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/desktop.xml) and installed courier-imap and all,
then when the guide told me to

ive got this error

imap://localhost: No such file or directory (errno = 2)

Courier-imap is running, maybe the configuration is wrong? (Ive got Mozilla Thunderbird installed by the way). I decided to skip it and installed Squirrelmail and it installed into /var/www/localhost/htdocs/squirrelmail
Then i did the ./configure command and got this error:

root@TNT squirrelmail # ./configure
bash: ./configure: Permission denied

I went to the config dir and did "perl conf.pl", but when i wanted to save the changes it gave me another permission denied error.
Can anyone help me out? |

Ok, i fixed the permission denied error by chmod 777, now i loged in to squirrelmail, but it seems when i tried to send an email i get this error:

Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to localhost:25 in /var/www/localhost/htdocs/squirrelmail/class/deliver/Deliver_SMTP.class.php on line 40
ERROR:
Connection refused
Server replied: 111

Like the smtp server wasnt running or didnt exist, i dunno, im confuzzled  
Another EDIT: i realized i dont have an smtp server, so i used sendmail, but i when i try to send to any email addy such as hotmail or yahoo, its never received.. is sendmail only for internal.!? I also noticed there are no outgoing byes when i click send... |
