hey mensen,
ik heb dit weekend op mijn pc gentoo in stage 2 gecompileerd en kernel 2.6.3.Daarbij zit nu KDE zodat ik een bureaublad heb.Maar nu komt het probleem: mijn sitecom wl-012 wil niet aan de gang(usb draadloos netwerkkaartje)
hij geeft de foutmelding als ik hem erin stop:
unkown usb (of zoiets)
hij ziet dus wel dat ie er in gaat maar herkennen doet ie niet terwijl hij het wel doet bij mn muis en mn scanner.ik heb de driver prism2_usb van linux wlan-ng geinstald maar die doet het ook niet.de drivers die op de site van sitecom staan zijn een oude versie van prism2_usb en werken niet onder mijn kernel.
we hebben wel usb enz in de kernel gebakken.
nou ben ik zelf geen superlinuxer maar ik heb dit samen met een vriend gedaan en die weet er redelijk veel vanaf en heb ook al op het gentooforum en Gotforum gekeken maar die dingen hielpen ook niet.
stukje van die vriend van me bij het Gotforum:
Ik heb hem hierbij geprobeerd te helpen en we hebben module autoloading in de kernel en laden de module met modprobe prism2_usb. Hotplug draait ook. de symlink /usr/src/linux verwijst ook naar de goede source.
Als we usb catten en dan dat ding erin steken zegt ie dat ie geen interface kan vinden ofzo.

nothing else happens.
I have to type "/etc/init.d/wlan start" and "ifup wlan0" in order to activate
the device, ... and it works !!
It seems like if the wlan script (in /etc/init.d/) and the prism2_usb script
(in /etc/hotplug/usb/) were never execute.
I've added "alias wlan0 prism2_usb" (with or without "options prism2_usb
prism2_doreset=1") in my "/etc/modules.conf".
I've also added "prism2_usb 0x0003 0x09aa 0x3642 0x0000
0x0000 0x02 0x00 0x00 0xff
0x01 0x00 0x00000000" in "/etc/hotplug/usb.handmap".
But the device never initializes itself automatically. I always have to run
the scripts "by hands".
So what's the problem with hotplug ? Did anyone already have this kind of
problem ? and how did you solve it ?
