For over a year I've had no problems, however after a reboot today, I can't get higher than 640x480. My first thought was had I rebooted since I emerged something new, which I'm sure I have. I've tried upgrading and downgrading my NVidia drivers which did nothing. I've tried changing from 24bit to 16bit graphics with no problems.

Code:

(II) NVIDIA(0): Not using default mode "1024x768" (hsync out of range)
(II) NVIDIA(0): Not using mode "1024x768" (no mode of this name)
(II) NVIDIA(0): Not using mode "800x600" (no mode of this name)
(**) NVIDIA(0): Validated modes for display device CRT-0:
(**) NVIDIA(0):      Default mode "640x480": 25.2 MHz, 31.5 kHz, 60.0 Hz
(**) NVIDIA(0):      Default mode "320x240": 12.6 MHz, 31.5 kHz, 60.1 Hz (D)
(==) NVIDIA(0): DPI set to (75, 75)

I've using a DELL LCD screen, which has the max resolution of 1024x768. I've even added modelines to the monitor section with no luck.

Any suggestion would be welcomed,

It looks like it thinks it's hooked up to a television monitor. Do you have twinview or something enabled?

I don't think so. This is my current config.

Quote:

Identifier "NVIDIA GeForce 3"
Driver "nvidia"
Option "NvAgp" "3"
Option "NoLogo" "true"
Option "CursorShadow" "true"
VideoRam 65536

I'm going to try my config from my home computer to see if it works.

Quote:

Section "Device"

Identifier "NVIDIA GeForce 3"
Driver "nvidia"
Option "NvAgp" "3"
Option "NoLogo" "true"
Option "RenderAccel" "0"
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT"
Option "IgnoreEDID" "1"
Option "NoDDC" "1"
Option "CursorShadow" "true"
Option "IgnoreDisplayDevices" "DFP, TV"
VideoRam 65536

Also I have XP on this machine too, which can get higher than 640x480. I did that to make sure something in the hardware didn't fry.

update - the above didn't help :(

FIXED.

Not sure, why or when, but the horz and vert sync lines where commented out. I not sure when I did that. It might have been me thinking that an LCD didn't need them.
