Having a problem.
One main reason I installed Gentoo on my Dell CPt laptop was to run Xastir (took 3 days to do a stage-1 install to optimize onto this laptop, ouch).
I have everything up and running (with a minor bug to swat here and there), except for Xastir..
I tried to "emerge xastir" and I get an error that
"all ebuilds that could satify xastir have been masked".
I looked in the mask file and dont see any reference to Xastir though...
I tried to install through CVS (my prefered way anyway) and I get errors that I need to install Motif/OpenMotif/Lesstif... But I have done both
emerge --usepkg lesstif
emerge --usepkg openmotif
Neither helped.
Anyone have any ideas?? PLEASE??
Thanks |

You can emerge it by providing the full path of the ebuild. Just like this:
Code: | emerge /usr/portage/media-radio/xastir/xastir-1.2.0.ebuild |
Good luck _________________ My blog

That seemed to do it. it installed. now I just have to get the com1 to work with it.. it isnt talking to the TNC yet.
Thanks!
How up to date is the emerge version of Xastir.. I was running the CVS on my other station since it was pretty easy to keep up to date with an cvs update.
Thanks again.
