How do I adjust various settings for using the terminal/console (aka not X)?
I would like to:
1. Change the resolution
2. Get rid of the delay that occurs after entering a bad password
3. Clear the screen as I log off
Merci bien. |

1. See the following thread. It is quite indepth, and a valuable resource for setting up framebuffers etc.
2. Not sure
3. echo clear > ~/.bash_logout

As far as I know, the delay after a bad password is to try to discourage brute force hacking by making each false login cost you a few seconds. |

Yep! It's a security thing and you can't remove it unless you start hacking into PAM (i guess). _________________ Don't bother! |

/etc/login.defs seems to fit your request.
Variable "FAIL_DELAY".
