I was having a hard time deciding the most appropriate place to post this, so I won't be terribly suprised if it's moved, but...
I'm wondering what sort of RAM : Swap Space ratio's people are working with out there. I've heard alot of talk about having 1.5x - 2x your RAM in swap space, but for me personally, that seems very unneccesary. Is there an optimal 'best' relationship for RAM : Swap, or are they unrelated after RAM reaches a certain amount? Personally, I've never used more then 100 mb of swap space. Just looking to gain some insight and comparissons. |

This has been discussed fairly extensively in the archives. Here's one thread -- there are others. There's also quite a few documents on google as well.
Locking thread.
