|
|
When I put in a DVD and watch it on my TV with my GeForce4 tv-out, there is a thin blue line right at the bottom of the movie frame, between the movie and the black widescreen bar. Does anyone know what could be causing this, or how it might be fixed? |

I had this 2 on GF4 ti4200
Using xine got rid of it adjusting I think vertical position, anyhow the solution is in the settings. |

Hm... I can't seem to find it. Changing the position just moved the blue line with it. |

Same problem here.
I tried both mplayer and xine for DVD playback, and both had this blue line a few pixel under the last line with TV-OUT (640x480) on a GeForce Ti4200. Using my normal monitor (1280x1024) I don't see this line.
Playing a cue-File (along with the bin-File) works on both TV-OUT and monitor without any blue lines.
So I suggest DVD and TV-OUT don't like each other. I suspect it to be a DVD problem but that's a mere guess. |

same problem ..
try changing videooutput-driver
for mplayer: -vo x11
don't ask me about xine
but: x11-driver isn't scaling capable, so you have no fullscreen.
a frameserver could be a solution, but i only know avisynth for windows ..
edit:driver "xshm" in xine is fullscreen-capable and without blue line
reedit: driver "gl2" works good for mplayer, support for opengl is required |

this started happening to me after i emerged win32codecs and a few other movie codecs (apparently mplayer doesn't depend on the latest versions, 'cuz it said they were upgrades). excepting that i get a blue line on the top and left of the movie. i can get it off the screen by moving the center with 'nvtv', but doing it by hand everytime is a pain, pluss non pan-and-scan flicks (ie, letterbox) still show the border right below the video image. very annoying.
anyone find a fix for this? i'm thinking i need to unmerge all my video codecs then emerge mplayer, but i'm not sure that would fix it.
p.s. the border is there with everything -- mythtv, mplayer, xine -- but it's _not_ on the desktop, so it's something in the codecs. |

I use to get this on KDE while playing movies full-screen with tv-out. Fixed it by changing Desktop Background color to Black.
Not sure if this will help you but did me. Good luck.
