i have jsut installed gentoo but i didnt have the second cd..UNfortunately during the install i was unsucsessful connecting to the internet so i ahd to do a GRP install....is there any way that i can connect to the internet using my linksys WUSB12....i need to connect in order to emerge gnome or kde and other files....im sure u can tell im a noob and have basically no idea what im doing so any advice will be greatly appreciated...THANKS!!!!

you should be able to

even without internet or the 2nd cd
as long as you don't have any weird security set up with your router, restarting should allow gentoo's hotplug (if you've installed it and set it to run on bootup) to load the correct modules and then make internet work for you.

I tried the emerge and read what the other guy said in his post...but when i emerge -k linux-wlan-ng I get host not found and couldnt downlaod errors....do i need to chaneg something in wlan.conf and how do i get the emerge -k linus-wlan-ng to work??? thanks again for ur help....
