I keep getting this:

ERROR: DDX driver parameter mismatch: got 620 bytes, but expected 664 bytes.
libGL error: InitDriver failed

when I try to play quake 3, run fgl_glxgears, etc.

My guess would be that the wrong driver is being used. i.e you upgraded to 3.9.0 from 3.7.x and did not reboot (not just restart X). I usually see that after upgrading and not rebooting.
