My /usr directory will be going onto a seperate partition than my system partition.
How big should I make my system partition?
Cheers. |

>= 5Gb, although you can probably make it with 2 or 3 Gb if you don't have the intention of installing too much stuff. _________________ Hello. |

hmmmmmmm. I think you are including whats in my /usr/bin directory!
Imagine the system once an "emerge system" has happened!
My /usr directory will be mounted on a SEPERATE partition that will take up the rest of the hard disk.
The idea is that I have 3 seperate partitions
1 for root /
1 for use /usr
1 for home /home |

Yes, but portage uses /var as it's working directory. If you don't have a separate partition for /var, you'll need a fairly hefty / partition. _________________ Behold, The power of SEARCH! |
