hi! i have a problem with my swap. my swap space is about 320mb's, and my memory is always full.
i have done $ mkswap /dev/hda2 and $ swapon /dev/hda2 ... and my gentoo should use swap, but as you can see on that page ( http://bsfh.pri.ee/sysinfo/ ), none of my swap space is being used ... how is that so?

Well.... it's not going to use swap until it runs OUT of memory.
You don't want it using swap when there is RAM going spare. It would slow things down. |

hm.. okay then. i just thought it's a little suspicious, because when i last installed gentoo with almost-the-same configuration, it DID use swap ... |

do a really big diff (like gentoo-dev-sources against gentoo-sources) and see if it uses swap. If it does, then its working properly, you just haven't hit the ceiling of your physical ram yet. _________________ Pop-before-SMTP with the Gentoo Virtual Mailhosting Guide |
