I'm doing an emerge -u world on my system. I have a 3dfx voodoo3 3000 in a pci slot. The Xfree driver is tdfx, but when emerge tries to do directFB, it gives me the following error:
Code: |
checking which gfxdrivers should be built... Unknown gfxdriver 3dfx, exiting!
!!! ERROR: dev-libs/DirectFB-0.9.19-r1 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 338, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed
|
how do I tell it to use tdfx instead of 3dfx? |

Might help you, this is the output of DirectFB if you do not specify anything in /etc/make.conf
All video drivers will be built since you did not specify
* via the VIDEO_CARDS variable what video card you use.
* DirectFB supports: ati128 cle266 cyber5k i810 matrox neomagic nsc nvidia radeon savage tdfx all none
Example, to add tdfx, type :
Code: | While being root :
echo "VIDEO_CARDS=\"tdfx\" >> /etc/make.conf

I'm pretty sure that I had that in make.conf. Its rather moot at this point, though, since I've upgraded video cards. Thanks for the help, though.
