its out and devfs is back, thus the name "now with 50 percent more evil" here are the notes:

evil-sources 2.6.2-evil2 Notes:

Patches Included:

*2.6.2-love1:
Love-sources, to see what patches it includes, go here: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=132765

*supermount-ng-2.0.4-2.6.2:
Supermount for kernel 2.6.2, applies cleanly except for 1 error easily fixed by hand, fixed version in broken-out directory, compiles cleanly

*sysfs-class-10-vc
sysfs vc class, applies cleanly, causes no problems for me but if it does cause problems for you the patch is in the broken-out directory, applies cleanly, compiles cleanly

*2.6.2-syscalls-v5
Moves syscalls from individual c files into one header file, applies and compiles cleanly

Patches Removed:

*remove-devfs
Its back, i've learned my lesson and am no longer going to take my personal vendetta against devfs out on the people who still use it.

*EDIT: link: http://evilsources.andrewnelson.org/patchset/2.6.2/2.6.2-evil2, sorry about that

Ah, these are excellent. I've been using supermount/udev for a few days and everything is perfect :).

Ok... So the glory of roll-yer-own in action.

Thanks for the patchset.... I have been using love sources for two months now with good success... I guess it won't hurt to jump to this one for a try. Mainly for the supermount.

Just a sidenote that will be important for me in about a week about devfs and udev: I'll be building an Athlon64 system and I read somthing interesting recently. It appears, from what I've read, that devfs actually causes some sort of memory corruption on x86-64 systems and the option is (supposedly) turned off to use it, udev being the obvious alternative. Anyone have any experiance with this and/or confirm or deny whether or not this is true?
