Pureftp 1.7.a and 4gb + files

Hi im running pureftp 1.7.a selfcompiled on gentoo under 2.4.22-r5.
From my windows pc i cannot read or write more than 4gb pr file with the following error from the server:

150-Accepted data connection
150 1332303.8 kbytes to download
451 Unable to map the file into memory: Invalid argument
Transfer Failed!

I tested on the server itselves with ftp localhost and i only got 2gb outa the 5,6gb sourcefile..
Im running Reiserfs the whole way so it should support 2gb+ files..

Anyone have any idea?

i was told pure-ftpd uses 32bit calls and can therefore not use BIG files
