I mentioned this before, but in a different context. I thought I had b0rked my Gentoo install somehow. But it now seems I did not.
I cannot make mm-sources or love-sources kernels boot at all. They don;t get past the bit where grub tries to execute them.
I suspect it is related to the new way of selecting the machine & processor types in make menuconfig in some way. At least this is my theory.
I have an AMD Athlon XP 1700+ and select 'PC Compatible' and the 'athlon/k7' entry on processor type. I've even tried it selecting all the types in there. Same result.
development-sources and gentoo-dev-sources both work fine. This is a completely new clean install I made (~x86).
So I am stuck using gentoo-dev. Until I can figure out what is going on here and how I can fix it and get back onto love-sources.
anyone have any ideas or insights here? |

i have an xp 2000+, selected "pc compatible" and "athlon/duron/k7" and it worked. so this shouldn't be the problem. tested with 2.6.2-mm1. _________________ please, feel free to correct my english. - por favor, corrige mi español. |
