Hi.
Trying to set up a BF1942server with BFSM, the servermanager requires access to /proc to check if the server is running or not, the only way to get it to work is either run it as ROOT or make an user that has access to /proc, as far as I understand running as ROOT is a big NONO, so my questions:
1. Is it unsecure to give access to /proc to a useraccount?
2. How do I give access to /proc to a user,group eg. bfuser,bfgroup?
When I'm trying to start BFSM I get 'Segmentation fault'
Please give an thorough explanation, 'cause I'm not that very experienced with linux, but I'm learning slowly. |
