Salve a tutti!
Ho da poco installato una gentoo e devo dire che ne sono molto soddisfatto.Tuttavia, avendo un modem adsl USB (ed essendo un newbie  ), ho optato per una installazione GRP dai due cd ufficiali. Dopo aver installato il modem ed aver inserito il mirror rsync italiano in make.conf (come spiegato nella documentazione) ho provato ad eseguire un emerge sync, ricevendo il seguente messaggio di errore:

Cosa significa?
Inoltre, pur essendo riuscito ad emergere e compilare Mozilla dalla rete, questo non riesce ad aprire alcuna pagina web, forse ho sbagliato o dimenticato qualcosa nella configurazione della rete, qualche suggerimento?
P.S.
Per completezza della diagnosi faccio anche presente che dopo essermi alquanto scervellato per installare il modem adsl, non ho trovato niente meglio che aggirare il problema rispolverando il vecchio 56K, che ho usato per emergere i diriver eciadsl-usermode. |

Te lo fa con qualsiasi mirror? Hai provato a cambiare mirror? L'output dell'errore è quello che hai scritto o è solo un estratto?

/etc/resolv.conf è a posto? Punta a dns validi e funzionanti?

Ma ora funziona il modem adsl? L'importante è quello

- Il modem funziona e si connette, per prova ho emerso lynx e tutto è andato bene, tuttavia anche lynx non vuol saperne di connettersi ad alcun sito web, e mi restitutisce | Code: | Looking up lynx.browser.org

Per sicurezza ho provato anche rsync.us.gentoo.org, ottenendo lo stesso errore dei mirror italiani.
- /etc/resolv.conf contiene questo:
