I have done something i recognize now i shouldn't have done. i have moved my /usr to a separate partition and too my /var to a separate one. went fine, after a restart everything worked and so i thought i could delete the originals on the partition with /. This was not really good. Avter a time i thought that i don't get any emails. i gave it a /etc/init.d/postfix status and it said stopped. a postfix check told me that a few (about 20) permissions weren't ok. and then i saw that the permissions on both copied directories went to root.root and 760. i emerged postfix again and it did it. but now i get lpr: unable to create temporary file when i do e.g. $ df | lpr. when i do $ df > df.txt and then lpr df.txt it works and prints. root can print both ways. this only happens with normal users.
in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf i have set lp.lp for user and group which is cupsd running on (i think this is the default). i have changed permissions on /var/spool/cups to 777. but still the same message after trying to print.
i have tried an emerge -C cups && emerge cups as well as a simply remerging of cups, but nothing helped.
anyone ideas how to solve the problem with cups and e.g. an idea how to solve the problems with other permissions (I'm afraid that in a few days something other will give up working)

I think i found now what to do. I've changed Permissions to 777 on /var/spool/fu/cups and to /var/tmp/ and now it works.
