Is intel_agp not intel-agp

dmesg gives me this:
[fglrx:firegl_stub_register] *ERROR* Fire GL kernel module has to be loaded prior to any other DRM kernel modules!
any ideas?

Are you sure that you have not enable DRM?

If you use ati-drivers in menuconfig you must make this options
Code:

Processor Type and features --->
<*> MTRR (Memory Type Range Register) support
Device Drivers  --->
  Character devices  --->
<M> Enhanced Real Time Clock Support
...
<M> /dev/agpgart (AGP Support)

not sure how to get dmesg to copy to a log and for soem reason I cannot get a terminal window to function properly, so I'll just freehand the dmesg lines that seems like problems:

Code:
Debug: sleeping function called from invalid contect at mm/slab.c:1856 in_atomic():1, irqs_disabled(0):0
Call Trace:
[<c0121acc>] __might_sleep+0xac/0xe0
[<f8aba6f2>]  __ke_down_struct_sem+0x32/0x50 [fglrx]
[<c014b533>] kmem_cache_alloc+0x73/0x80
[<f8aba13c>] __ke_alloc_wait_queue_head_struct+0x1c/0x40 [fglrx]
[<f8abd1ac>] firegl_setup_dev+0x10c/0x1b0 [fglrx]
[<f8abc6c4>] firegl_open+0x174/0x230 [fglrx]
[<f8abc602>] firegl_open+0xb2/0x230 [fglrx]
[<f8ab9e7d>] firegl_stub_open+0x11d/0x1f0 [fglrx]

this goes on for a while, but those are the first 8-10 lines and none that follow mention drivers/fglrx/agp/etc.

That error message is because you have "CONFIG_DEBUG_SPINLOCK_SLEEP=y" in your kernel config. turn this off, recompile, and that error will disappear.

see this thread for more info: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=121731&highlight=
