hi,
I have no USB devices till now, so I asked myself if hotplug was necessary for my system. I have an US ROBOTICS 56k external modem and a serial printer Epson stylus color 640. |

no, hotplug isn't nessecary for operation.. but i suppose if you want to "hotplug" any devices your gonna need it..

before proceeding with unmerge you could try stop it first and eventually remove it from boot, and only after that proceed with unmerging.
btw: i am also not using it anymore as it was not necessary _________________ --------------------------
