This is a very annoying problem. When I am browsing the internet in mozilla, firebird, or nautilus a lot of hyperlinks have a green font. Sometimes if I move the mouse over them they become a more readable blue color but not all the time. This also doesn't happen on every web page. For instance all of the links on google are green but on gentoo.org they retain their colors. I have tried to force hyperlinks to use my defined color in mozilla but it still doesn't work. This is driving me crazy. The problem seems to have started after I enabled the scroll wheel on my mouse. Can anyone give me a hint as to what could be wrong? |

That seems quite odd, you may try re-emerging mozilla, or perhaps take my suggestion and switch to opera.
Also check man mozilla or mozilla --help for options that may be effecting your text color.
You say this is only happening on links?? _________________ -Determined

Yes, it only happens on links, I just tried emerging firebird but that didn't help. I'm currently emerging opera. |

I hope that you wont have the problem in opera too, but I doubt that will be true. I really like opera, except for the lingering banner add that requires a serial to get rid of but after you buy it you will never wamt to use anpther browser.
I wish there was someone else that might know why your links are green. Opera actually gives you style sheets that you can edit to change the appearance of your browsers so I you know (or want to learn) cascading style sheets give it look once you have opera installed.
Good luck. _________________ -Determined

Ok I installed opera and my hyperlinks are STILL bright green and pretty unreadable, especially on a white background. This is driving me absolutely crazy. Does anyone have any idea as to why this could be happening? I am using gnome 2.4, mozilla 1.5, XFree86 4.3.0-r3. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

make sure the color settings on your monitor aren't mucked up. If that is not the problem, and I don't think it is, then you may have a font problem or a color problem involving your graphics card or X.
I will look around for other people with this problem, you may try something like reinstalling X (or re emerging, thank you gentoo.)
Good luck for now, hope this gets resolved. _________________ -Determined
