Resolving ftp.valvesoftware.com... 207.173.176.250
Connecting to ftp.valvesoftware.com[207.173.176.250]:21... connected.
Logging in as hlserver ... Logged in!

I don't get the prompt back .. only with "CTRL+C" ... how come ??

It's a file of 2 MB and I waited 10 minutes ... nothing happens .. 2 mb normally within 1 minute

Are you using iptables to block ports? It's possible that your firewall doesn't allow passive FTP connections.

well .. I don't have iptables emerged ... and the strange thing is that wget works fine with other URL's ... except the URL mentioned above ..

friends of me can use wget from that url so it isn't a fault at the url ... maybe someone had some troubles like me...
