Anybody know if it's possible to use a mach64 in dual-head under Linux? My old laptop has a mach64-based ATI Rage Mobility card that is capable of dual non-cloned display using both the LCD and VGA output (it worked fine back when I was running Windows 98). I did some searching but couldn't find out anything. This would be so helpful to me...

This doesn't help me at all. My Fn functions to switch displays were already working in the first place, and according to my logs:
Code:
(WW) ATI(0): Option "extern_disp" is not used

My guess is that you have some other video chipset, probably not ATI.

And it seems I wasn't clear enough: I want DUAL-HEAD. That means two independent displays with their own desktop, preferably linked with the xinerama extension. I can already use an external display just fine, as well as both my LCD and external in a cloned setup, but that's hardly useful.
