Anybody know if it's possible to use a mach64 in dual-head under Linux? My old laptop has a mach64-based ATI Rage Mobility card that is capable of dual non-cloned display using both the LCD and VGA output (it worked fine back when I was running Windows 98). I did some searching but couldn't find out anything. This would be so helpful to me... |

This doesn't help me at all. My Fn functions to switch displays were already working in the first place, and according to my logs:
Code: | (WW) ATI(0): Option "extern_disp" is not used |
My guess is that you have some other video chipset, probably not ATI.
And it seems I wasn't clear enough: I want DUAL-HEAD. That means two independent displays with their own desktop, preferably linked with the xinerama extension. I can already use an external display just fine, as well as both my LCD and external in a cloned setup, but that's hardly useful. |
