It's possible that the emu10k1 driver didn't get compiled with your kernel. |

I'm getting the same "unique" error. For some reason, when it boots it fails to load module snd_emu10k1. **Note** the underscore!. If I do modprobe snd_emu10k1 it is indeed not there, and fails. If however I do a modprobe snd-emu10k1, with a dash not underscore, the module will load. I'm looking to find WHERE this underscore is located. I'm sure it was just a typo somewhere, but where I have yet to find. |

This is common; it's not an error.
For some queer reason (don't ask me why) you modprobe with a dash (as per the file name in /lib/modules), but it shows it with an underscore in lsmod or any other module-inspecting program. _________________ Want Free games?

Yeah, I figred that out. I had typo'd the name for the module in the /etc/modules.d/alsa. It was trying to load snd-em10k1 but reporting it couldn't load snd_emu10k1. When I corrected my typo, it worked like a champ |
