|
|
This is an odd one I can't figure. When I upgraded my kernel from gentoo-2.4.20-r5 to gentoo-2.4.22-r5 the "USB and PCI hotplugging" on bootup became erratic.
Sometimes it would freeze, sometimes not. It seemed to be unrelated to whether my USB devices (scanner and camera) were plugged in or not (though I always have the keyboard and mouse plugged in)
Does anyone know if there's a way to switch any debugging messages on for USB Hotplug - at present it's freezing and I don't even know what it's trying to do. Or has anyone experienced something like this already?
cheers

I don't know that you should have to, but you might want to try re-emerging hotplug. Just a guess.

try turning off acpi (you can try adding to kernel line in grub acpi=off to see if it solves the problem) |
