| Is there an alternative method than ACPI to inform the kernel that you're running hyperthreaded processors? Reason being my Radeon9800 with 3.2.8/3.7.0 drivers tends to make the system VERY unstable with ACPI. But I want HT! |

| Hmm... correct me if I'm wrong (got an athlon), but don't you need SMP support for hyperthreading and ACPI has nothing to do with it? |

Thass wot I thought. I have got an SMP kernel (mm-sources). I've got a dual-Xeon 2.8GHz w/HT
Turn ACPI on and I get 4 processors
Turn ACPI off and I get 2
... most strange ... |

Out of curiosity, are you sure you don't mean APIC? That's different from ACPI, but the two look similar.
APIC, I believe, would have some effect on the number of processors you see |
