|

I've looked around a bit but haven't found any Gentoo users that have implemented Courier for all of the e-mail needs. i.e., SMTP, POP, IMAP, and Webmail
Does anyone here have any experience with the Courier package? _________________ Eric P.

I use most of those modules, only webmail is left out. But I use it for a home server, so volume is very low and I don't know how that setup compares to the more usual qmail + courier/cyrus. |

Sounds like you're looking for the Virtual/Mailhosting Guide. _________________ moo |

IIRC the virtual mailhosting guide has instructions for setting up courier as the imap server only. There's nothing stopping you from using it for all of your mail functions though. |

Go for it epretorious! The only module I'm not running is webmail so if you're happy with having the rest working fine then I can say you should have no problems. I don't know how it compares in security/scalability, etc but you shouldn't have too many problems getting started. |

I'm in the process of reading Courier's substantive installation documenetation and hope to have a functioning installation in a few days. I'll share my insight here. _________________ Eric P.
