Hey,
I have a haupage bttv, a sb audigy 2 and I use tvtime. I only have my sbaudigy2 from yesterday, previously I used onboard sound, and then tv worked perfectly. With the sbaudigy2 though I get no sound from the tv, all other apps work. I searched the forum, found some posts, none helped me. If I plugin my speakers directly in the tv-card I get sound, if I connect the cable from the tvcard to the line-in from the audigy it doesn't.
I'm sure it is not kernel or alsa related since it worked already with my onboard sound. It must be a channel that's muted or something but I have tried turning up every channel I find in alsamixer (and those are alot), but none give me sound. What else can I try?

Some info on my site here:

and here

I have the same setup as you btw. Try increasing your Analog Mix values (or AC97 pre ALSA 1.0.0-rc2) Playback levels.

Also set LINE as the record source.

You're right. I had to increase Analog Mix AND Analog Mix Capture, I only tried them separately. I don't know how to set LINE as record source, but it works, so I won't fiddle with it. Thanks for the help. Since we are on the topic of SB Audigy & ALSA now anyway, what the hell is AC3 passthrough? I read everywhere how to use it but not what it is. Is it surround sound when playing dvd's?

Easy way is emerge alsamixergui and click on the speakers above the level bars.

AC3 Passthrough mode allows your Digital Dolby Surround Sound (DDSS) receiver to decode the sound position instead of your sound card doing it. Depends on your setup which is better. The Audigy2 is a VERY high quality card and thus is better then a cheap speaker setup.

Read my site on how to set it up/use it.

And where is this DDSS if it's not on the soundcard? On your site I see you have a audigy bay or something, I just have the bulk version. I also see you have the Z680 set, I only have the Z5300. I'm still confused wether I have Dolby Surround or not, some speakers have this extra control box, and some not, or is it on the soundcard? I asked in the store where I bought them but they couldn't help me either.
